Indie 103.1 says goodbye

This week, Los Angeles based radio station Indie 103.1 went out of business. No wonder when I turned to 103.1 today in the car I heard mariachi music instead of what would normally play on 103.1.

There is a full statement explaining why on their website which you can read here.

To put it simply, the suits in the corporate world were putting pressure on the station. A New World Order of Radio. Play more Britney like the other stations, or get out. True to their creed, Indie 103.1 said NO, and will no longer be broadcasting through the terrestrial airwaves. However, you can still stream Indie 103.1 online.

No longer will David Lynch give me the weather report for the day. Bummer.
(Fret not, kids. You can still find all that weather report goodness on his website.)

Well, at least I still have NPR.
